“We have to continually be jumping off cliffs and developing our wings on the way down.” – Kurt Vonnegut
Dear Breathe One Community,
When I was a little girl I had a reoccurring dream of climbing up to the top of a tree and jumping off. As I slowly fell I savored the sinking feeling at the pit of my stomach. Greeting the earth safely, I would pick myself back up, and climb the tree all over again. I enjoyed falling time and time again. This dream went on for years and as I grew older it faded away. The significance of this childhood dream revisits me once again. “To dream that you fall and are not frightened signifies that you will overcome your adversities with ease.” (www.dreammoods.com) A powerful truth I have learned is to look at adversities and obstacles as opportunities to learn and grow. I have complete faith that I am equipped with all I need to weather any storm come what may.
When I was asked to be the new Chief Editor of Breathe OC, my first reaction was pure excitement. Writing has been a creative outlet for me since I was a child, and Journalism was my favorite class in high school. After high school I worked in the corporate world for over a decade and found myself in charge of writing policies and procedures for my department, and training internationally. In 2012 I left the corporate world to pursue my true passion as a yoga teacher. Fast forward to today I was being handed the opportunity to write and edit for a magazine that stood for my deepest passion, to spread conscious living. Even more rewarding was the chance to collaborate with three amazing editors, all with their own unique and talented gifts. The past month we have been planning the evolution of our print magazine into an all new digital platform. We will no longer be printing magazines, but will continue to provide uplifting conscious content digitally, and hold a space to inspire, uplift and unite. We’re aiming to make Breathe One Community a platform to spread love, light and conscious living to all communities worldwide.
One Breath, One Community, One Love.
